⭐ Business Development Manager – Building Compliance Services

Manchester Office | £35,000 + Commission | Full-time, Permanent

Our client is a well-established UK building compliance consultancy specialising in energy performance, statutory assessments, and technical reporting for commercial properties. With a team of highly skilled assessors, engineers and consultants, they support organisations across the public and private sectors with accurate, reliable and compliant building data.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Business Development Manager who has proven experience in selling building compliance or technical property services, ideally within the built-environment sector.

This is a Manchester-based role with excellent long-term commission potential.

As the Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive new business and secure clients who require commercial building compliance services. You will work closely with a talented technical team who deliver EPCs, DECs, condition reports and wider compliance projects.

This is a high-impact role suited to a motivated sales professional who thrives on building relationships, opening doors and turning technical services into clear customer value.

 

⭐ Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and convert new business opportunities across the built environment sector.
  • Achieve agreed sales KPIs, revenue targets and pipeline metrics.
  • Promote a range of building compliance services including EPC, DEC and related assessment programmes.
  • Prepare quotations, bids, tenders and proposals, managing the full sales process end-to-end.
  • Develop strong relationships with facilities managers, local authorities, architects, commercial agents and other stakeholders.
  • Update and maintain the company’s CRM, ensuring accurate forecasting.
  • Work closely with assessors and engineers to ensure seamless project handover and delivery.

This role is ideal for an experienced business developer with knowledge of energy, property or compliance-based services.

  • 3years’ experience + coordinating and selling energy/compliance projects (EPC, DEC, compliance reporting).
  • A track record of being a key contributor to revenue growth, securing new clients consistently.
  • Strong commercial acumen across quotations, tenders, contracts and project workflows.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement across councils, FM teams, architects and consultants.
  • A proactive, motivated and KPI-driven approach to business development.
