Zest4Talent is delighted to be recruiting for an exceptional Group Leader to head up a talented and growing team within a forward-thinking consultancy.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead inspiring projects that make a real impact on low-carbon and sustainable design.

About the Role

You’ll guide a specialist team delivering small to medium sustainability and building physics projects.

This role blends leadership, delivery, and innovation — perfect for someone who can balance technical expertise, team development, and client engagement.

You’ll have the freedom to shape the direction of the sustainability function, develop efficient processes, and drive innovation across exciting, design-led projects.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Lead and manage a team delivering sustainability and building physics projects.

✅ Develop streamlined processes to enhance delivery, reporting, and modelling workflows.

✅ Oversee financial performance, ensuring efficient, profitable project delivery.

✅ Maintain excellent client relationships while producing innovative, high-quality outcomes.

✅ Mentor and develop junior staff, building capability and confidence.

✅ Represent the sustainability team at external events, workshops, and CPDs.

Skills & Attributes

💡 Proven leadership and team management experience in sustainability or building physics.

💡 Strong technical knowledge: Part L, TM52, TM59, daylighting, overheating, energy modelling (IES or TAS).

💡 Commercial awareness and confidence managing budgets and client relationships.

💡 Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills.

💡 Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and sustainability.

💡 Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Design, Building Services, or a related discipline.
