About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a creative and driven Associate or Senior Associate Sustainability Consultant (Carbon) to join their London-based Sustainability Group.
You’ll play a key role in delivering whole-life carbon strategies, mentoring junior consultants, and shaping sustainability outcomes across major projects. This is a pivotal position within a collaborative, forward-thinking team that values innovation and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and deliver large-scale sustainability and carbon-focused projects.

Support the leadership of the London Sustainability team, including mentoring and line management.

Manage project workload, resourcing, and fee proposals.

Undertake and oversee modelling and analysis, including:
-
Embodied carbon of materials
-
Circular economy opportunities
-
Building performance simulation
-
Operational energy use and overheating
-
-
Develop sustainability and energy strategies from concept through to completion.

Deliver environmental assessments (BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc).

Contribute to industry research and innovation, helping to shape best practice and carbon policy.

Support the drive towards net zero whole life carbon across all projects.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring both technical expertise and leadership capability, combined with a genuine passion for sustainability and carbon reduction.
Key Skills & Knowledge:
You will have in-depth knowledge and competence in several of the following areas (not necessarily all):

Energy strategies and Part L assessments (Elmhurst, IES)
-
NABERS UK and in-use energy modelling
-
Dynamic thermal comfort and overheating analysis
-
BREEAM and HQM assessments
-
Net zero carbon and embodied carbon calculations
-
Circular economy and health & wellbeing strategies
-
Production of sustainability reports (Whole Life Carbon, Energy, Circular Economy, etc.)
Experience & Attributes:
-
Proven experience in a sustainability or engineering consultancy environment.

A degree in a relevant sustainability or engineering discipline.

Confidence in leading client and design workshops.
-
Strong communication and presentation skills.
-
A collaborative, open-minded approach to leadership and mentoring.
-
Experience supporting others’ professional growth.
